Beschreibung

The management of waste materials is becoming an acute problem in Malaysia. Rapid economic development, population growth, inadequate infrastructure and expertise and land scarcity make the management of municipal solid waste one of the Malaysia''s most critical environmental issues. Solid waste management is a major challenge for Malaysia to address in the light of Vision 2020 which lays out the direction for Malaysia to become a fully developed nation by 2020. This book, therefore, provides a significant discussion on household waste management such as: Prevention and Minimization of Waste Recycling, Collection, storage and transportation of Waste, Landfill Disposal of Waste and waste generated by per household, and their WTP for waste management improvement and some vital polices to the policymakers. This study should be especially useful for households, professionals and policy makers to improve household waste management system in Malaysia.
